About MVC
MVC opened its doors in 2006, founded by Dr. Ali Meslemani, the organization being designed to help those who suffer from varicose veins. Nowadays, 13 years since its foundation, the organization is considered to be a leader when it comes to the treatment of venous conditions using the latest technology, and has a total of 12 offices across the United States, in Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and Texas.
Dr. Mohammed Islam talked about the new available technology, noting that he strongly believes that vein and arterial patients are served better in an outpatient office, as opposed to a hospital, due to the new technology.
He points to this as the reason he joined Metro Vein Centers and left his hospital career, as he can now provide his patients with the latest treatments when it comes to venous and arterial problems, being able to do this from the comfort of a private clinic. According to him, this is a much better experience for all parties involved, as patients are able to go in and out within an hour.
Leading-edge Diagnostic and Treatment Options
The procedures offered by MVC are both safe as well as painless. They are performed in-office, and they require minimum downtime. Among the treatment options available are: endovenous laser ablation, ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy, and radiofrequency ablation.
Sclerotherapy is considered to be the gold standard as far as treating smaller varicose veins and spider veins goes. The procedure takes half an hour and involves the use of an injection of a medicated sclerosing solution which results in the veins being closed-down and getting reabsorbed. Multiple sessions might be necessary in order to get a complete cosmetic result and to get rid of all problems.
Radiofrequency ablation is designed to not only treat the symptoms of varicose veins but also the root cause. The procedure takes an hour, and it takes a few hours for the patient to recover completely, the discomfort being minimal. The procedure uses radio waves, which are emitted through a thin catheter that is inserted in the vein that has unhealthy valves. The waves cause it close, and it will then get reabsorbed into the body.
Last but not least, endovenous laser ablation, is a procedure uses a laser beam in order to treat varicose veins as well as the underlying cause. The treatment takes on hour, and patients will recover within a few hours, being able to usually start their normal activity again in 24 hours, with little to no pain being involved. An optic fiber is inserted into the vein that has unhealthy valves, and, as a result of delivering laser light which heats areas of the vein, the vein will close, and the healing process will begin once the optic fiber gets withdrawn.
