The days of modern century has changed its course from the ideology of the old world. As the society is changed into the tech bubble, the old version of ethics and virtues are decaying along the time. The golden age of mankind could probably be traced back to the ancient Greek civilization where philosophers and ethics prospered. Plato one of the greatest philosophers of all time had the earlier model of a dream society where it will be the philosophers, who will govern the country.
Voting rights will be given the righteous ones and the king will be chosen by a vote. The philosopher king however cannot hold on to the earthly possessions like gold or have wives and Plato wanted to banish poets from his Republic. Plato’s model was immediately challenged by his student Aristotle where he defended the poets.
And ever since the poets has always been and seen as the rebels of the society. However, the modern society is depleted of thinkers and poets so the government is playing their terror part quite frequently. Terror has sunk into the system hence, and as the predictions were done in the novels of several landmines, we are all approaching to that ticking time bomb!
A dystopian society:
A dystopia typically means a society where everything has gone wrong. It is the opposite of Utopia, which translates to an ideal society, asociety that was promised in the religious books.In the commandments and the promises of prophets; but as the history have already marked the fall of the age of the religion a new emergence of villainy is right in the corner. The omnipotence of the government through the social Mediascertainly provides us the glimpses of George Orwell’s 1984. In 1984 Orwell predicted the existence of a totalitarian government that controls people through the vague ideological promisesand subdues its subjects through its military and thought police.
They kill the rebellion at its roots by brainwashing and the most horrid part lies in the larceny of their rebellious memories. A lot of those things are reflecting already in the modern society and the danger is taking its toll for long enough. Another Novel, the Handmaid’s Tale, talks about a similar scenario where women have been subjected as animals, merely used as breeding tools and men, subject to the almighty government.
Even the modern day TV series are predicting all of these, and surprisingly, we find uncanny resemblances of them in our daily world and some of them are already taking place at moments. The black mirror series is a must watch series that might notify you of these imminent threats and take actions before it is too late. Dwayne Craddock, the name that terrorised the whole nation and put it in a shock, the mass murder of the nation is actually a victim of such a complex society, according to the social scientists. Perhaps we might take actions already or see our doom’s day appearing not through violence, but through ignorance!
