My family really enjoys nut butters, but it seems like they all like something different from the other, they just can’t ever agree. One prefers peanut butter, another almond, and one chooses sunflower butter above all. I enjoy them all, so to have to choose is almost nothing; I just ask them to make a little extra for me. Having to buy these basically every week gets pretty expensive because they typically use them daily. Plus I like to buy the natural versions, which are even more costly.

I thought that maybe it was time for me to figure out another way around this. After ample research, my food processor was beckoning to me from my kitchen closet. I thought it might be wise to replace some of the parts before getting started, so I did a search and landed on the KitchenWorksUSA. They have authentic Cuisinart DLC-7 parts. I ordered some new blades and different sized work bowls. I knew I’d be putting this tool to work.

There were plenty of recipes out there to experiment with, so I was confident I could find something that everyone would enjoy. I wanted to involve each person in the process.

First up was my daughter. She was the one who was obsessed with sunflower butter. We got the ingredients that we needed to make it, and it was fairly easy. This one was basically a one shot situation. She was happy with our creation right away. I was thrilled, but I knew they wouldn’t all be this easy.

Next was my son. His main preference was peanut butter. So we experimented a few times on this one. I knew it might take a bit of trial and error. We added honey to the recipe and adjusted that a couple of times until we found the right amount. He also liked a little chunk, which I was more or less able to pull off. I made sure to take note of exactly what we did so I could continue to recreate it.

And lastly, it was my husband’s turn. He can be pretty fussy. He was the almond butter guy. I wasn’t looking forward to this one as I knew it might be a little more work. I wasn’t wrong. It took more times than it did with my son, but not as many times as I would have expected. I absolutely needed to keep a record of this recipe, otherwise I’d have to figure it out all over again which I was not interested in doing.

I save so much money by making homemade nut butters. It’s really amazing. I personally feel that they taste better too, and so does my family. It’s also nice to know th

at there aren’t any preservatives in them either. We’re saving money and everyone is healthy and happy!
